Why is cream cheese made in Philadelphia?
Answer: Thats where it was founded and was originally created would be incorrect.
Here is the truth:
According 2 the American food pro cessing company Kraft, the first American creamcheese was made in New York State back in 1872 by American dairyman William Lawrence. In 1880, 'Philadelphia' was adopted as the brand name, after the city that was considered at the time to be the home of top quality food.
So simply Philly was known as a top quality place for food back in the late 1800's
